(May 1, 2020) – Today, the Maricopa County Unified Command Center received a donation of 2,500 surgical gowns from AmSafe Manufacturing. Board of Supervisors Chairman Clint Hickman and Supervisor Steve Gallardo toured the manufacturing facility with Senator Martha McSally in Phoenix where the announcement was made.

Maricopa County was informed of a group of people taking up residence on sidewalks and under flood control structure in area of Bell and El Mirage. Individual agencies worked together including MCSO, MCDOT and MCFLOOD in order to warn this group away from the area and undergo clean-up that would keep the area pristine while assuring the proper use of the facilities

BLM issues Vulture Mountains recreation lease to Maricopa County

PHOENIX –The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) signed a lease agreement allowing the Parks and Recreation Department to enter into a Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) lease with the BLM Hassayampa Field Office. Under the lease, the parks department will be responsible for managing approximately 1,046 acres of public lands near Wickenburg, Arizona.

For three days, I was in Lake Havasu City (Mohave County) presiding over the County Supervisors Association Summit. When my colleagues elected me President of CSA, I told them I would only take the job if they promised not to make chicken and egg jokes. Well, that lasted only about ten minutes into my presidency.

As a parting gift to my colleagues, I gave them each their own commemorative egg, hand decorated with their County symbol as well as their name.
